Bowers & Wilkins - 805 D4 Signature - Bookshelf Speakers

Bowers & Wilkins was founded in Worthing, England in 1966 by John Bowers, a man who believed that the purpose of a loudspeaker was simply to reproduce recorded music as faithfully as possible, and that achieving this required investment in research rather than compromise in manufacturing. That belief produced, over subsequent decades, a series of loudspeaker innovations — the first practical diamond tweeter, the decoupled tweeter housing, the matrix-braced cabinet — that have become reference technologies in the industry. The 800 Series, introduced in the 1970s and continuously refined since, is the direct expression of that research: the speaker that Abbey Road Studios and countless other world-class recording facilities trust to hear what they are actually recording.

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

The 800 Series Diamond range incorporates technologies developed without regard to cost: a tweeter dome machined from pure diamond, chosen because its extreme stiffness pushes resonance far beyond the audible range; a Continuum midrange cone developed over years of materials research to eliminate the 'cone cry' coloration present in all conventional cone materials; and a Biomimetic Suspension system that reduces non-linear distortion at low frequencies. The turbine head tweeter enclosure decouples the tweeter from the cabinet entirely, so that cabinet vibration — however small — cannot influence the treble reproduction. These are not marketing descriptions. They are engineering solutions to problems that affect every loudspeaker, implemented at a level of investment that only a company of B&W;'s scale can sustain.

WHY THE AUDIO TAILOR CARRIES BOWERS & WILKINS 800 SERIES

We carry Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series because it represents one of the most rigorously developed and extensively validated loudspeaker designs in the world. It is the benchmark against which every other speaker in our range is assessed — and it earns that position every time.

Discover the 805 D4 Signature: Compact Powerhouse in Stand-Mount Loudspeakers

The 805 D4 Signature stand-mount loudspeaker combines compact design with powerful performance. Featuring fully optimized technologies, including the renowned Diamond Dome tweeter and Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top, this speaker proves that small can indeed be beautiful.

Key Features

Compact and Powerful Design: The 805 D4 Signature is engineered for high performance in a compact form. With optimized technologies like the Diamond Dome tweeter and Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top, it delivers exceptional audio quality in a smaller footprint.

Diamond Dome Tweeter: One of our most significant accomplishments over the past two decades, the ultra-stiff, supremely accurate Diamond Dome tweeter offers a perfect combination of low mass, exceptional stiffness, and outstanding accuracy. Despite fifteen years of innovation, we have yet to find a better tweeter dome technology.

All-New Tweeter Grille: The Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing features an elongated form with a longer tube-loading system and an all-new tweeter grille design. This setup produces an even more free and open sound with high frequencies.

Upgraded Crossover: The 805 D4 Signature uses upgraded rear-mounted crossover designs on stiff aluminum spines. This isolates sensitive capacitors from the unwanted effects of air pressure within the enclosure and acts as a highly effective heatsink, ensuring optimal performance during use.

Continuum™ Cone: Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ Cone avoids abrupt transitions in behavior that can impair the performance of conventional drive units. The result is a more open, neutral performance, allowing voices and instruments to be heard with precision and transparency.

Enhance Your Audio Experience

The Perfect Companion: Pair the 805 D4 Signature with high-quality speaker stands to improve the audio experience by providing optimal positioning and reducing unwanted vibrations.

Experience the blend of compact design and powerful performance with the 805 D4 Signature stand-mount loudspeaker. Discover why it stands out in the world of high-end audio equipment and elevates your listening experience to new heights.
