Cayin - Jazz 90 - Integrated Valve Tube Amplifier

Cayin is expanding its popular high-end Jazz series of tube integrated amplifiers with the extra-powerful Jazz 90. With two 50-watt RMS continuous power outputs and outstanding stability, it can also drive many speakers that previously weren't suitable for tube operation. Its connectivity is state-of-the-art: With multiple analog line inputs, a built-in MM phono amplifier, a Bluetooth receiver, and a dedicated DAC, it combines classic amplifier technology with a wide range of application options.

Plenty of power + outstanding stability

Cayin achieves this combination of the finest tube sound and powerful dynamics thanks to newly dimensioned, even wider-bandwidth transformers and a particularly stable push/pull circuit. Two KT88 power tubes each amplify one half-wave per channel; the Jazz 90's special circuitry allows the pair to work particularly harmoniously in the crossover range. The oversized output transformers ensure a stable output of two 50 watts RMS continuous power and can even handle loads below 4 ohms.

In addition to the four power tubes, the Jazz 90 is equipped with two 12AX7 or ECC83 input tubes and two 6SN7 driver tubes. Compared to previous designs, the power supply has also been reinforced, ensuring the Jazz 90 operates with exceptional stability, even when power is being drawn.

Flexible from Bluetooth to Phono

The Cayin Jazz 90 combines a classic tube design with the flexible connection options expected from a modern amplifier. The user can choose between four inputs via IR remote control: two classic RCA line inputs and an analog input with the built-in phono amplifier. This allows for the direct connection of a turntable with an MM cartridge.

The Jazz 90 also features a modern Bluetooth receiver for direct wireless playback of digital signals. With Bluetooth 5.1 and high-quality codecs such as AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC, high quality is guaranteed even with wireless playback. The built-in ESS ES9018K2M D/A converter ensures excellent conversion characteristics and sound quality.

A full-size headphone output on the front panel drives virtually all standard headphones. An additional RCA output allows for the connection of a subwoofer.

VU meters on the front panel show the current power level of both channels and give the Jazz 90 a timeless, technical look.

Bias control and protection circuits

The Cayin Jazz 90 not only offers a superbly sounding and stable tube amplifier circuit, it can also be adapted to various power tube types and the user's preferences. In addition to the KT88, which comes standard, fans of "tube rolling" can also use EL34 tubes thanks to the easy switch.

When adjusting the bias voltage for each tube, the left dial indicates the ideal setting. The built-in Bias Monitoring Indicator (BMI) circuit continuously monitors the operating status of the tubes and switches the amplifier to a protect mode if any deviations occur.

The user can choose between using the power tubes in performance-optimised, highly controlled ultralinear/pentode mode or selecting the more purist triode mode for a particularly natural harmonic spectrum.

Different output transformer taps with dedicated terminals for 4 or 8 ohms allow for optimal adjustment of voltage reserves, current delivery capacity, and damping factor to suit either high- or low-impedance speakers.
