Marten - Parker Quintet - Floorstanding Speakers (PR)

Marten was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1998 by Leif Marten Olsson, a musician who came to loudspeaker design from a listener's perspective rather than an engineer's. That origin shapes everything about the brand. Where many high-end speaker companies measure performance in terms of frequency response linearity and distortion figures, Marten measures it in terms of musical engagement — the capacity of a loudspeaker to communicate the emotional content of a performance, not merely its technical accuracy. The result is a range of speakers that audiophiles describe with words normally reserved for live music: present, alive, involving.

ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY

Marten loudspeakers use diamond tweeters and ceramic midrange drivers — materials chosen for their exceptional stiffness, low mass, and near-perfect pistonic behaviour across their operating range. These drivers are expensive to manufacture and demanding to implement correctly, which is why relatively few speaker designers use them. Marten's crossover designs are developed to allow these exceptional drivers to work at their best, using air-core inductors and film capacitors that contribute no sonic signature of their own. The cabinet construction uses high-density MDF laminated with real wood veneers in a range of finishes, braced internally to eliminate resonance. The sonic character that emerges from all of this is not clinical or analytical — it is musical, with an effortless quality in the upper frequencies that makes long listening sessions genuinely pleasurable.

WHY THE AUDIO TAILOR CARRIES MARTEN

We carry Marten because our clients who love music — not just audio equipment — respond to these speakers in a way that is different from almost anything else we demonstrate. If you listen to a lot of live music, or if you play an instrument, you will understand immediately what Marten has achieved.

Parker Quintet: Elevating the Standard for Mid-Range Loudspeakers

Introducing the Parker Quintet: A New Benchmark in Marten's Product Range The Parker Quintet, launched in 2020, represents a significant step forward in Marten's mid-range product offerings. It combines custom-designed technology with meticulously balanced build techniques, setting a new standard for loudspeakers in its class.

Key Features of the Parker Quintet

  1. Innovative Design: The 2.5-way floor-standing design features brand new custom-designed drivers, including four bass/midrange drivers, embodying the Marten philosophy of reproducing sound as it is in life.
  2. Extreme Resonance Reduction: The cabinet, crafted from M-board, provides extreme resonance reduction, allowing the speaker to vanish within the soundstage and letting the music and emotion shine.
  3. Ceramic Drivers: These custom-designed ceramic drivers by Leif Olofsson offer long linear excursion and utilize a powerful Neodynium magnet system for precise control.
  4. High Sensitivity: With a high sensitivity of 93 dB, the Parker Quintet ensures an open and precise soundstage with great dynamics.
  5. Multi-Diverse Crossover Technique: Developed through extensive listening, testing, simulation, and calculation, the crossover uses the best components for a hard-working, finely-tuned system.

Award-Winning Design The Parker Quintet's excellence was recognized with the Grand Prix 2021 award by Stereo Sound magazine in Japan, especially in its Diamond edition.

Optional Diamond Edition Upgrade The Parker Quintet can be elevated to the Diamond Edition, featuring a pure Diamond tweeter, Jorma Statement internal cables, advanced crossover components, and improved terminals.

Bass and Midrange Performance Designed with four 7.5” bass/midrange ceramic drivers and four passive radiators, the speaker delivers controlled and dynamic bass, essential for a speaker of this class.

Internal Wiring for Pure Sound Adhering to Marten's high standards, the Parker Quintet uses Jorma Design internal wiring, handmade in Sweden, to deliver natural, transparent sound.

Advanced Isolation Technology With Marten Isolators, developed in collaboration with IsoAcoustics, the speaker achieves a new level of isolation, reducing resonance and distortion and enhancing the overall soundstage.

Versatile and Powerful Performance The Parker Quintet is suited for a wide range of room sizes, from modest to grand. Its consistent quality across all driver units, cabinets, and crossovers allows even the smallest model in the series to command a large living space.

Parker Quintet: A Testament to Marten's Excellence The Parker Quintet is more than just a speaker; it's a statement of Marten's commitment to innovation and quality. It stands as a testament to the brand's dedication to delivering powerful performance in a package suitable for any space, truly embodying the essence of Marten's approach to sound reproduction.
