Montaudio - KAURI KR - Premium Cable Elevator

Montaudio - KAURI KR - Premium Cable Elevator

The beauty of the native New Zealand forest has been a hallmark attraction since its discovery, with none other than the towering Kauri tree as its largest and most iconic symbol. Highly sought after by ship builders over a century ago, the mature trees can reach over five metres in diameter with almost no branching and solid throughout the trunk, resulting in a need for protection from harvest.

Inspired by the majestic icon, the designers at Montaudio have created a premium Cable Elevator with the same name, sharing the same thick solid-wood structure using a single solid piece of Walnut wood for vibration attenuation. Precision-machined, the crown of the Kauri KR Cable Elevator is precisely calculated saddle-shaped, enabling a secure-yet-minimal contact area for cable placement to further reduce vibration transmission.

Providing a solid footing is a precision-machined, unibody stainless steel base with twin engineered elastomer rings underneath for non-slip placement & vibration isolation. The base is secured to the walnut trunk above via a stainless-steel screw post.

Hand-polished and laser engraved, the Kauri KR Cable Elevator lifts the performance and aesthetics alike for the discerning Hi-Fi connoisseur.

Staunch, Meticulous, Resolute – prepare to be elated.

Montaudio was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in late 2013 by a group of like-minded audiophiles who shared a single conviction: that the cables, racks, and accessories supporting a high-end audio system matter as much as the components themselves — and that nothing on the market was good enough. Rather than accept that compromise, they set out to build their own. What emerged was a brand defined by an ethos as much as a product range: Pure, Natural, Simple, Elegance. That philosophy is embedded in every decision Montaudio makes, from the materials selected to the names given to each product — every one of which is drawn from New Zealand's extraordinary natural landscape. The Manuka, the Tongariro, the Wanaka, the Rakaia, the Chatham: each name is a small piece of the country that made the brand, carried into listening rooms around the world. ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY Montaudio's engineering approach begins with a principle that is straightforward to state but demanding to execute: that anything in the signal path or physical environment of an audio system that introduces noise, vibration, or interference is an enemy of music — and that eliminating these influences requires purpose-built solutions, not afterthoughts. Their cables are constructed around polyethylene dielectrics on the main conductors, copper and silver-plated copper cores, fully shielded with copper or aluminium foil against the electromagnetic interference that pervades modern listening environments. Natural cotton filler is used within each cable for additional vibration damping, and walnut wood — chosen specifically for its acoustic damping properties — features throughout the range as both an aesthetic signature and a functional material. Connectors are designed in-house with solid single-piece conductors, hand-terminated by skilled technicians using temperature-controlled soldering and cold-welding processes that preserve the crystalline structure of the metal at the contact point. The Manuka MR Reference HiFi Rack takes the vibration control philosophy further still: solid walnut and birch plywood shelves incorporating the proprietary Montaudio Vibration Isolation Pillar (MVIP) — a machined stepped-honeycomb pattern that forces vibrational energy downward and dissipates it through the material boundary layers, rather than allowing it to reach the equipment above. Every element of the Montaudio range is designed to do one thing: get out of the way of the music
